The name Ya Shi Xiang literally translates to “Duck shit aroma”. The name came to be from the original farmer, who wanted to hide the success of his new tea from fellow farmers. Ya Shi Xiang is one of the highest grades of Dancong Oolong from Guangdong Province, China. Known for its wonderful floral aromas with hints of honeysuckle and almonds- that linger on the palate. This incredible oolong is sourced directly from a biodiverse family-owned plantation and commands appreciation as one of Chinas finest teas and one the finest teas we have sourced.

Tasting notes: A dark yellow liquor with a slight sour cherry aroma and warm baked almonds, butter and custard with hints of sweet orchids and jasmine. The taste is sweet honeysuckle, melted butter, dried raspberries/apricot and a river rocks minimality
Temperature: 90-95 degrees
Brewing instructions: Western method; Approx. 1-2 scoops or 2-3 grams for every 150ml of water for a 3-minute infusion.
Gong fu method; 2-3 scoops or 5 grams for every 150ml of water. First infusion 5-7 seconds and then 10-15 seconds for up to 12 infusions.
Pair with: The sweet notes go perfectly with lemon biscuits or a slice of cake. The minerality and floral notes pair well with lamb, dumplings and light creamy cheeses.
